Team Coach

Chris Hill - Team Coach "Better hours and something closer to home – those were the reasons why I left the bank I was with 11 years ago to join the AA. I worked my way up from Customer Advisor to Senior Customer Advisor, before becoming a Team Coach.

"This is a relatively new role and we're all still finding our feet, but it's really enjoyable. I look after new recruits in their first three to four months, bringing them up to speed and helping with their early development either through group training or one-to-one sessions.

"Although new starters have a buddy, a manager and colleagues to turn to, I offer additional support, and it's immensely rewarding bringing someone on and seeing them flourish. It's all about being patient, listening to people, identifying what's required and making sure that each has the necessary product knowledge. People have different learning abilities and come in at different levels, so to help everyone it's important to find a happy medium.

"You also have to cope with a busy atmosphere. Everyone works hard at the AA but, having said that, it's more relaxed than other call centres I've come across. I suppose it boils down to knowing when to knuckle down and when you can have a laugh and joke."
