Katrina Johns - Customer Advisor - Insurance "The training here is just brilliant. Before I joined the AA, I was temping. So I never really got the support and encouragement I needed to get on. But all that changes once you have the backing of big, well-respected company. Before I started out on the phones, I had two weeks' classroom-based training, so that took some of the fear out of taking my first calls. And every day, you build more and more experience, so I feel as though I'm learning all the time.

"As far as the day to day is concerned, I deal with motor insurance customers. So I've come across a huge range of queries, including renewing and updating motor policies. There's real variety here as every person that calls in has different needs, different questions. It's certainly never dull and the challenge for me is to come up with the best advice every time.

"I'm really enjoying what I do right now, but as my degree was in English, Film and TV Studies, I'd like, eventually, to move into more of a media- or marketing-related role. The good thing about working at the AA is that I know there are plenty of opportunities. I've already heard of someone who started off like me as a Customer Advisor and progressed into a marketing role, so I'm sure I'll get all the backing I need to do this when the time is right."
