What do I do if I’ve broken down?
Call our English-speaking 24-hour helpline on 00 800 8877 6655 to get roadside assistance.

Just to let you know, you’ll need to use the 00 prefix – even if you’re calling from the UK.

Having difficulty with this number? Try these alternatives:
  • French landlines – 0825 098 876 or 0472 171 200
  • UK mobiles or other EU countries – 00 3382 509 8876 or 00 3347 217 1200
We have unique access to over 40,000 garage agents throughout Europe. They’ll do all they can to fix your car by the roadside. However, if more substantial repairs are needed, they’ll arrange recovery and repairs.
How do I make a claim?
Before you can claim for Parts and Labour, you'll first need to call us for roadside assistance in Europe.

If your vehicle needs repair work in Europe, we'll need to authorise it before the work begins.

Once your vehicle’s back on the road, we can usually cover the costs directly with the garage, so you won't have to pay the bill and claim back later.

To make a claim, you must:
  • have had a mechanical or electrical breakdown that means it’s not safe to continue driving
  • need the repair or replacement part in order for your trip to continue
  • have already started your trip and left your home address – whether you're en route but still in the UK, or already on the Continent
You’ll find full details of what's covered in the European breakdown cover policy documents:
