The Tudor House was built around 1460, and is set among charming cobbled streets close to Shrewsbury Castle and the Cathedral. Proprietors Kevin and Sue are very welcoming and provide relaxed accommodation, full of character and comfort. The town is ideal for shopping, and for fans of historical architecture, as it is full of around 600 charming (and listed) medieval buildings. There are also connections to Erasmus Darwin and his son Charles, who was born at the Mount a couple of miles away. The younger Darwin has a statue in his honour outside the town's library.
