This 16th-century former inn and tollhouse is at the end of an old packhorse route, and you can expect a welcome from the friendly dog. The house has been extended to offer spacious, comfortable bedrooms and there is also a cosy lounge. Breakfast is served in the adjacent beamed dining room. This is a non-smoking establishment.

I was very disappointed, sounded lovely, but right on Main Road and Railway line. Sheets and pillows needed replacing, bathroom just smelled of bleach. No fluffy white towels Breakfast not flexible in timing 8.30only.

Me and my wife stayed here recently and had a lovely stay.Edward and Jean gave us a warm welcome and we found them to be very helpful.The room itself was large and of the traditional type.It was ensuite, spotlessly clean and certainly not damp.The breakfast was fab.I dont usually leave reviews but felt i needed to as some of the negative ones on here do the place a real injustice.There is just no pleasing some folk!We would definitely recommend and will be back!

Really disappointed. They were so friendly on the phone and the pictures looked so nice and it's 4 diamond - but it was shabby, damp and grubby. I'm really shocked this gets 4 diamonds. Beautiful countryside but we'll be staying elsewhere next time.
