Recall: No. 2 of 4
Recall Ref: R1996/080
Exact Model: ZQ
Description: CONTAMINATION OF BRAKING SYSTEM FLUID
VIN: SP, TA, TB, TC, TD, TG, TK, TR
Build Date: December 1995 to July 1996
Numbers: 1754
Defect: The clutch system hydraulic hoses on affected vehicles have been manufactured from a material containing mineral oil. As the clutch and brake systems share a common reservoir, fluid from the clutch system which has been contaminated by contact with the hoses may migrate into the braking system. This could cause damage to the brake master cylinder seals and result in reduced braking efficiency.
Action: Recall the affected vehicles for the fitment of new seals to the brake master cylinder. At the same time the brake/clutch hydraulic systems will be purged of the original fluid and replenished. New clutch hoses will also be fitted.
Launch Date: 23 October 1996
