The CR-V scored enough points overall for a five star rating however a balanced performance is required and in frontal impact it didn't achieve the minimum points needed for that rating. Structures in the dashboard presented a risk of injury to the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. In the pedestrian tests the bumper scored maximum points for the protection offered to pedestrians' legs however the front edge of the bonnet scored no points and the protection offered by the bonnet to adults' heads was predominantly poor.
