If you’ve just been convicted of a drink drive offence and banned, your world has probably been turned upside down.
By successfully completing a DSA-approved rehabilitation course that the court has offered you, either directly or following your request, you can apply for a 25% reduction in your disqualification period. This means you’ll be back on the road quicker and with practical knowledge that will reduce the chance of you re-offending.
Originally developed by the London Community Rehabilitation Company (LCRC), Steer Clear is a well established drink driving rehabilitation course that’s been helping motorists get a new perspective on drinking and driving, for the last 15 years. Now a national course run by AA DriveTech, part of the AA and in association with LCRC, will provide you with advice and guidance in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
AA DriveTech’s aim is to help you get back on the road safely, even if that currently seems like a distant prospect. We’re here to help and to let you know you’re not alone – in fact, we help many thousands of drivers each year to address the consequences of a variety of motoring offences.
"I appreciated gaining the knowledge to become more aware of my actions and their consequences. Our instructor made sure it was enjoyable as well as educational." Alex, course participant with LCRC
